    Integration contracts, data schemas, and API specifications are designed before any code is written. Approval from both ends ensures both teams agree on the interface.

    Middleware implementation

    The middleware layer is built — message routing, data transformation, orchestration logic — using your existing ESB platform or a custom-built integration layer.

    Data flow & transformation

    Data mappings between systems are implemented and validated. Edge cases (missing fields, format differences, business-rule variations) are handled explicitly.

    Testing & validation

Which middleware platform do you recommend?

It depends on your existing stack. If you already run IBM, we extend IBM Integration Bus or App Connect. If MuleSoft is in place, we build on Anypoint. For greenfield, we’ll recommend based on team skills, ecosystem fit, and operational maturity. We’re not locked into one vendor.

Can you integrate with our legacy systems that don’t have modern APIs?

Yes. We’ve built custom adapters for legacy AS/400, mainframe systems, ancient SOAP APIs, file-based batch integrations, and proprietary protocols. The middleware layer handles translating between legacy and modern.

What’s your approach to API design?

Contract-first design. Before any code is written, the API contract is documented (OpenAPI/Swagger), reviewed by both producer and consumer teams, and approved. We follow REST best practices, use GraphQL where appropriate, and emphasize developer experience.

How long does an integration typically take?

Simple point-to-point integrations: 4-8 weeks. Mid-complexity ERP integration: 3-6 months. Large-scale enterprise middleware rollouts: 6-12 months. We scope each engagement based on system complexity, data volume, and compliance requirements.

Who operates the integration platform after launch?

For banking and enterprise clients, production is run jointly. Your IT operations team owns and controls production. BrainCrop has access to push updates, diagnose issues, and ship new features through UAT and Dev environments. Integration health monitoring is shared between both teams.

What about data security across systems?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sensitive fields are masked or tokenized where appropriate. Audit logs capture all data flows through the middleware. We work with your security and compliance teams to meet specific data classification, residency, and retention requirements.
